Rick Tzompa Chimal
State Officer Coach and TSA Alum

Rick Tzompa Chimal is a Career and Technical Student Organizations advocate and a former TSA member. Rick serves as the State Officer Coach for the District of Columbia TSA and leads leadership development programming for the State Officer Team, who serve and lead the membership experience for our 800+ student-member delegation. He also coordinates student-led digital content for our local chapters, social media pages, and our website, and delegates responsibilities while managing calendars for in-person events at state and national conferences.
As the former 2023-2024 Tennessee TSA State Treasurer, he focused on outreach for conference partners, social media, and publications for the Tennessee TSA community of 2,000+ members. He led the student experience at the State Leadership Conference with over 1,000 attendees and represented the delegation at the 2024 National TSA conference in Orlando, Florida. During his term, he worked with Tennessee’s CTSOs: HOSA, FCCLA, FBLA, DECA, SkillsUSA, and TSA to host their annual collaborative conferences, Chapter Officer Leadership Training, Fall Leadership Conferences, and Day on the Hill legislative/congressional advocacy efforts.
He was awarded the 2024 Tennessee TSA Distinguished Student Award for his exceptional dedication, character, and leadership at the local, regional, and state levels; he consistently upholds the values of TSA and actively contributes to the success of their chapter and peers through service, participation, and a strong commitment to STEM education.
Rick is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs and Human Services and Social Justice at the George Washington University, where he is a Cisneros Scholar at the Cisneros Institute. TSA taught him the importance of career discovery and leadership development, and he is excited to help students across the district find their career journey through TSA.
