Aris Pangilinan

Mr. Pangilinan has taught AP Calculus AB, AP Computer Science A & P, AP Statistics, & PLTW Computer Science & Engineering. He was a class valedictorian and has a B.S., Cum laude, in Mathematics and an MA in Educational Management with Measurement, Evaluation, and Testing. He served as a college instructor, department head, STEM director, after-school & testing coordinator, master scheduler, and a coach for Math Olympiad and Battle of the Brains.

For his efforts to improve academic access for all students regardless of their background, Mr. P has won several local, national, and global awards, including the US Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics, DCPS’ Washington Post Teacher of the Year, and Top 50 of Global Teacher Prize, The Nobel Prize of Teaching. In 2021, he was named the Amazon Future Engineer National Teacher of the Year and a Pivotal Educator Fellow @ Georgetown, and in 2024, the ACTE National Teacher of the Year. He initiated, mentored, and advised on a variety of student-centered initiatives, including the National Honor Society, Advanced Placement (AP) Club, and Robotics Club, while empowering students not just in academics but also in leadership and community service. Mr. P specializes in teaching mathematics, computer science, engineering, teacher education, information technology, and entrepreneurship. He has been a teacher by education, training, and profession for almost 30 years.

In 2023, Mr. P was selected to serve as the State Advisor for the District of Columbia TSA delegation. Under his leadership, the organization experienced a revival from years of inactivity, and membership grew from one school chapter to thirteen middle and high school chapters and 900 affiliated members and advisors across the district. He is passionate about student success and connecting classroom education to real-world impact and opportunity.
